Welcome to the newest addition of the Sumatran Surf Voyages family.

Our Captains are all legitimately ticketed to International standards, in fact we usually send our vessels out with 2 Captains onboard for the extra manpower and as a safety backup at sea.

In 1995 we built the Manglaui Ndulu in Sulewesi. She is highly regarded as one of the best Indonesian vessels floating today. She was constructed of the highest quality iron-wood from deep in the forests of Central Kalimantan. The ‘Mango’ as she is widely known, has featured in many magazine articles, movies and cable TV documentaries over the past decade, she has set the standards for Indo flagged vessels to follow. She is usually booked full with return guests at least a year in advance.

Our more recent addition to the “Sumatran Surf Voyages” team is the MV Saranya, being a twin engine steel hulled power boat, we think is a great alternative to the Mangalui as she is a bit smaller and twice as fast. Great for nipping around the islands with speed, comfort and with the added safety and peace of mind of having two main engines.

Matt and Jenny Cruden are the founders of “Sumatran Surf Voyages” and along with their daughters Elke and Indi, still share the stoke of surfing with their friends who return year after year.
